Editorial standards and corrections

Reported facts, calculations and interpretation

Filing fields are attributed to the issuer and dated disclosure. Calculated metrics identify the records, scope, denominator and missing-value treatment used. A CIK identifies a filer; it does not identify a unique offering, parent company or fund family.

Research tables are computed from stored records. They are not individually authored market commentary. A proposed narrative claiming a market trend, a financing outcome or a relationship between entities requires human review of sources and coverage before publication. The current reports describe stored activity without asserting those conclusions.

Source and example standards

Use primary SEC and regulatory sources for filing definitions and requirements. Link to original filings when discussing an issuer, and retain accession numbers and dates so another researcher can reproduce the observation. Hypothetical worked examples must be labeled; they are never represented as actual transactions.

Guides use the publisher byline unless an author's identity and role have been verified. Publication and modification dates describe the article, not the recency of every underlying filing. No professional credentials or independent review are implied by the publisher byline.

Financial-data safeguards

  • Keep offering size separate from amount sold and from cash receipts.
  • Do not add amendments to initial notices as independent fundraising.
  • Keep missing numeric values separate from reported zero.
  • Do not infer investor identities, investment performance or current availability from a filing.
  • Disclose incomplete imports, changing issuer attributes and uncertain entity matches.

Request a correction

Send the affected page, accession number or CRD, original SEC/IAPD link and the field or statement in question to [email protected]. The publisher should verify the source before changing a disputed value; disagreement alone is not evidence that the source is wrong.

Material editorial corrections should identify what changed and update the article's modification date. Source disclosures must remain distinguishable from reviewed corrections. Previously reviewed issuer identity and incorporation-year notes remain visible where applicable. We cannot promise a response time or that an external SEC record can be changed.

Commercial independence

Payment buys the export or subscription features listed on pricing, not favorable analysis. Advertisements, when configured, must be labeled and separated from editorial content. We do not treat an advertiser or paying user as a verified investment.
